Benefits and Applications

4% Pd, 1% Pt/C (HS-208) is a Palladium catalyst on activated carbon powder. The catalyst is used in a variety of hydrogenation reactions. Areas of application are the reductions of nitro and nitroso groups into anilines as well as the full reduction of carbonyl groups and carbon-carbon multiple bonds. The palladium catalyst can be purchased in different Pd concentrations from 3-10%. After use, the spent catalyst can be returned to Heraeus for recycling of the valuable precious metals.
