Benefits and Applications

1.5% Pt/C (HS-102) is a Platinum catalyst on activated carbon powder. The catalyst is used in a variety of hydrogenation reactions. Areas of application are the reductions of nitro and nitroso groups into anilines as well as the conversion of ketones into alcohols. The platinum catalyst can be purchased in different Pt concentrations from 1-10%. After use, the spent catalyst can be returned to Heraeus for recycling of the valuable precious metals.
