The palladium, 0.8% on aluminum oxide (K-02168-08) catalyst is a low-loaded catalyst on a spherical aluminum support. The catalyst is used for the hydrogenation of aromatic rings, in particular for the selective hydrogenation of phenols to cyclohexanone (key intermediate in the production of nylon-6 and nylon-6.6). After use, the Palladium, 0.8% on aluminum oxide (K-02168-08) catalyst can be returned to Heraeus for recycling the valuable precious metals it contains.
